Things to Do

Home to the Original World’s Largest Pecan Statue, Seguin has three of the biggest pecan statues in the world. The original was built in downtown Seguin in 1962 to celebrate the city as one of Texas’ biggest pecan producers. The town built another statue ten feet long, becoming the largest mobile pecan statue. However, after Brunswick, Missouri built a larger stationary statue in the 1980s, Seguin determined to reclaim the title, succeeding in 2011 with a 16-by-eight-foot pecan.

The Guadalupe River is a great place to float, relax, and enjoy nature. Passing through Canyon Lake, the river is always peaceful. People can enjoy tubing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing on the river. The San Marcos River is also great for relaxing. The clear water is deep and cold and boasts several beautiful waterfalls. There is a lot to do along this river, but it is most popular for swimming and tubing.

A beautiful area on the banks of Walnut Branch Stream, Walnut Springs Park is a hidden gem. Visitors can fish in the stream, and the lush greenery, local wildflowers, and cheerful waterfall create a beautiful and relaxing ambiance. It is best known for its sturdy walking path and its system of bridges and walkways.
